Careers in Conservation
In partnership with community organizations, we’re excited to announce the return of our Careers in Conservations events this fall. Maui high school and college students are invited to participate in these two in-person events where students will have an opportunity to connect with professionals working to protect Maui’s natural resources and ecosystems.
Huliau Leadership Council
The Huliau Leadership Council is open to students in grades 9-12 from all Maui County schools who have an interest in environmental leadership. Members meet twice a month to plan service projects and other environmental leadership projects.
Huliau Environmental Filmmaking Club
Our fall filmmaking program is open to students in grades 7-12 from all schools. Students will work together (usually grouped by age) to create a short environmental film over the fall semester. The program begins with three initial mandatory meetings both in-person and on Zoom. The majority of filming is done during fall break and editing sessions are scheduled in November and December. Our staff will provide equipment, as well as assistance in planning, filming, and editing. No prior experience is needed
Huliau Food & Film Festival
The Huliau Food & Film Festival is a farm-to-table celebration of local agriculture featuring local chefs and student-produced films. This year’s event will feature a five course farm-to-table meal, live music, and student films. All funds raised will benefit our environmental education programs for Maui youth.
