Our Haleakalā Backpacking Trip is Back!

After a four year pause, our annual Haleakalā Backpacking Trip is back! This year’s trip will be a two day, one night trip visiting Hōlua Cabin on July 2-3, 2024. Before the pandemic, Maui Huliau staff had lead annual 3-4 day backpacking trips into Haleakalā Crater for six years. Trips are open to Maui youth ages 12-18 who have enrolled in any of our other Huliau programs in past two years. A signup form will be posted here in April and a mandatory pre-trip meeting will be scheduled during June. This film is from our very first crater trip in 2014.
